Trip to Topeka for Grandma's funeral

On the way to Topeka, we stopped in Nashville to walk through the Gaylord Opryland Resort. Roger stayed here for a conference once and wanted to show it to us.

We also stopped in St. Louis and stayed with the Voyles family, who recently moved away from our ward (same Gabi and Madi from the "going away party" post!)

Breaking out the photo albums.  Roger and Brian served in the same mission in Canada just a few years apart.
Latisha & Teri (the one who took our family pictures for Christmas)
Roger and Glenn operating on some glasses to replace Brandon's broken screw.
And of course Kaylee did some horse riding with Sarah.
Kaylee's memorial to Grandma written in chalk on the driveway.  (It says, Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Like we have said, We love and miss you!)

Kaylee's camping trip with G'pa & G'ma Shields

After the reunion in Oklahoma, Kaylee and her cousin Sarah were invited to go on a camping trip for the week with Grandpa & Grandma Shields . They visited some family graves in Oklahoma, collected hermit crabs at a place on Lake Pontchartrain, and ended up at the Gulf of Mexico. They had a great time together. These are some pictures that Grandma & Grandpa shared with us.

Oklahoma Trip - Glenn & Jody's 50th Anniversary Reunion

In June, we got to travel to the NE corner of Oklahoma to attend a Shields Family Reunion. We were celebrating Glenn & Jody's 50th wedding anniversary, and almost everyone was able to make it (Erica's husband James was the only one missing). We stayed at a nice little place called Lee's Resort. The kids got along great and it was a wonderful time.

Vicki staking her claim upon arrival
Checking out the docks
Andrea & Tori wasted no time jumping in the lake.
Everyone else thought the pool was a good place to start
Naomi & Evie meeting one another
Sarah found tadpoles!
Volleyball was popular, too.
Dinner for a crowd
A peek at the cabins - kids upstairs!
Grandpa & Grandma brought Brandon his birthday present.
The next day, everyone was ready for more water!
Jumping off the dock
And lots of fun with the boat!
On Day 3, we headed to Natural Falls State Park
Just some random pictures of everyone. Messing around in the dirt piles near the cabins was a favorite activity for the younger kids!
Wednesday night, we rented the meeting room and celebrated with a nice dinner and family video. Vicki made a beautiful cake.
Our combined gift to Glenn & Jody was a special book with pictures and memories written by their posterity.
A few crazy group shots
And finally, the "real" group picture. We had a super fun time with these amazing people!
